Unfortunately, a small number of the crime-fiction aficionados whose opinions were solicited on the subject of overlooked or underappreciated novels failed to respond. (Yeah, you know who you are.) Or, in two other cases, they failed to respond by the deadline, so their nominations didn’t make it into The Rap Sheet’s original feature package.
